The HKS Altezza TRB-01 is a legendary time attack car built by HKS Japan in the early 2000s with the goal of breaking records at Tsukuba Circuit. Based on the Toyota Altezza, the car was completely transformed with a tube-frame chassis, full carbon fiber body, and a heavily modified turbocharged 2.2L 3S-GE engine producing around 600 horsepower. Weighing just 2,000 lbs, it achieved a blistering lap time of 55.8 seconds, driven by Nobuteru Taniguchi. Though it only ran once competitively, the TRB-01 became an icon in JDM tuning culture, showcasing the peak of engineering and performance from Japan’s top tuning house.
